Agree on the grandstanding. Barr is quite literally the worst. He should have been questioned and allowed to answer to demonstrate that fact.

The worst? Nah. But it's perfectly fine to disagree with him. I think the challenge is that... he's not Trump. They REALLY hate Trump, and they want to poke Trump (who is quite pokeable!), and he wasn't there. Barr, love him or hate him... is kind of immune to the baiting and poking that they seemed to be attempting here.

You don't think Barr has enabled some of Trump's worst behavior since he was confirmed?

No. Maybe. Not really. I don't think that's what he is hated for, though... He is hated for a completely separate set of reasons. He is hated because he doesn't care, and he doesn't relent; and he is hated because he is related to Trump. The disdain for him, from these people, is akin to that of the right for Eric Holder.

Hey, do you remember when the Attorney General was NOT an extension of the political campaign of the President?

Yeah me neither...

Remind me, when we have a zoom call over a couple adult beverages, for me to relay to you the logic made to me by an owner of a Virginia restaurant for running off the President's press secretary and allowing her employees to follow her to the next restaurant and continue to harass her and her family.

Bottom line: I simply don't care about AG Barr, and I simply, honestly don't care about Trump, and I certainly don't care about Shiela Jackson Lee and Hank Johnson and whoever else is on this committee... I care about process.

And if anyone thinks that AG Barr is not worthy of a fair hearing on an issue (law and order and protests, etc) of great importance, I only have one thing to say:

This was just grand standing. IF they thought they could get barr in a perjury trap they would let him talk. This was sound bite generation for campaign adds.
